The lawsuit filed by a woman from North Carolina is one of the many lawsuits filed against DePuy Orthopaedics of Johnson and Johnson because of claims that the hip device from the said company is defective, news reports say. The woman filed the complaint before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas because she has experienced several side effects due to the hip implant’s component.
It was in May 2010 when she had her hip implant surgery but instead of feeling relief, she started to have severe pain, discomfort and loosening of the implant. In the complaint, she indicated that the design of the DePuy Pinnacle hip system has some flaws that the company failed to disclose.
